What does your Repainting service involve?

If your court is not breaking up and does not require resurfacing with a new layer of macadam stone then there are normally three stages to its’ refurbishment:

1. Apply chemical treatment to kill moss & algae.
2. Clean the surface to remove dead moss and the dirt within the structure.
3. Apply the binder primer, coloured paint coatings & white tennis line markings.

We’re extremely experienced and have successfully used this process to hundreds of courts.

What is the process to paint our court?

Painting is only carried out in dry, reasonably still and warm weather, onto a dry surface and can only be applied outdoors from March to October.

In good weather painting a standard tennis court is achieved in a day. The paint coatings are sprayed onto the surface with specialist airless equipment and the lines are applied at the same time. This is a method of atomising the paint without using compressed air.

The paint is touch dry upon completion but then needs to cure & harden. The court can usually be used again after 3 days.

We work with a specialist paint manufacturer that produces a high quality range of water based sprayable acrylic paints and binders. Texturing agents are added to the paint to provide adequate grip in dry & wet conditions meeting L.T.A. specifications.

What does your Maintenance service involve?

Initially, a chemical treatment application to kill any moss that is evident on the surface. This is carried out prior to cleaning the surface with our professional pressure washer machines.

Killing the moss first is usually preferred as cleaning a court with live moss can damage the surface. Once your court is clean we can discuss on-going maintenance.

Moss takes hold on porous macadam surfaces due to natural elements and will grow back over time. Applying a chemical treatment either annually or bi-annually is a proactive course to stop the moss returning.
